Split Rock Hole
Part of Mohonk Preserve. Therefore, there is a fee for parking that gives access to all the preserve, which includes many trails and places to swim. To get to the nude sunbathing area, park at the manned parking area on Clove Rd., walk to Split Rock, and just past the bridge on the left, heading North, there is a tree limb stairway. Follow this path through the woods for 10 minutes. There is a sign on the tree and on the ground that you may encounter nude bathers ahead. Ahead, there will be a larger open, sunnier area. It is not a very deep swimming hole, but the sun bathing is good and bathing suits are optional.
